The Basics of Adult Literacy Education - An Online Course for Adult Literacy Instructors

Basics of Adult Education for ABE/HSE Instructors with Limited Formal Training or Experience Teaching Adult Literacy Learners. (Some in-depth coverage of topics also provided for experienced instructors. ELL specific issues not addressed.)

  • Developed  by the Center for Literacy Studies at the University of Tennessee, with funding from the U.S. Department of Education.
  • Provides an overview/review of all adult education issues and concepts and includes worksheets, self- assessments, research, tips, links, and resources.

ELL-U English Language Learner University

ELL-U was a free professional development network for ESOL practitioners. The resources developed through this federally-funded initiative were designed to broaden, deepen, and strengthen the knowledge and skills of educators working with adult ELLs. ESOL practitioners and ELLs may continue to leverage these resources and the network of practitioners where they now reside on the LINCS site.
